What is CBD?
CBD stands for Cannabidiol, which is a naturally occurring non-psychoactive major Cannabinoid compound in the Cannabis family of plants.
CBD is fast becoming the most researched and studied plant compound because of its many potentially beneficial effects for mammals. CBD binds predominantly to the CB2 receptors of The Endocannabinoid System.
Is CBD legal?
Yes, considered an agricultural commodity since 2018, hemp-derived products like CBD are completely legal in all 50 states.
With the passage of the Farm Bill in December 2018, CBD was federally determined to be an agricultural commodity throughout the United States.
Is CBD safe?
Because it is a plant compound that does not have a psychotropic response, many organizations have studied and declared Cannabidiol to not hold adverse health effects and that the compound is well tolerated in mammals.
Of course, we always recommend speaking to your trusted medical professional before adding cannabis compounds like CBD to your wellness routine.
What are Cannabinoids?
Cannabinoids are naturally occurring compounds found in the Cannabis family of plants. There are both major and minor cannabinoid compounds and they have many potentially positive uses for humans.
How much CBD should I take?
The optimal dose of CBD depends on your weight and the potency of the product you’re enjoying. Most consumers choose to begin with 15 - 25 mg and see how it affects them. The least amount it takes to get the desired result is typically optimal for the person.
How does CBD get in the body?
Cannabis compounds like CBD enter the body through the receptors of the body’s Endocannabinoid system. Discovered in 1990, the ECS is a neuromodulatory system that works with the plant compounds.
Are your products tested by a 3rd Party Lab?
Absolutely! All of our testing is conducted through New Blooms Labs and our lab results are available for viewing both online and linked from our product labeling via links/QR codes. These Certificate of Analysis (COA) reports will showcase the cannabinoid concentration of the product being enjoyed.
Will CBD show up on a drug test?
Products that contain the trace amount of Delta-9 THC (broad and full spectrum products) can cause a positive result on a drug test. The lab and testing requirements may vary depending on the organization requesting the testing so it is good to discuss legal hemp-derived products and testing with the testing organization in question.
What is solventless extraction and why should I care?
Solventless Extraction is the process used at Power Biopharms to pull the cannabinoid compounds out of the plant. This is done using heat and pressure, which results in a syrup or sap-like substance which is the base of our farm’s full spectrum products.
Other extractors may choose to use solvents like Butane, or gasses like CO2, to pull their compounds from their plants. At our farm, we wanted to keep true to the plant thus giving our customers the most whole representation of the beneficial compounds.
Does CBD get you high?
Cannabidiol is considered as non-psychotropic and thus are not associated with the “high” response that is often related to High THC Cannabis (“Marijuana”). Most CBD consumers enjoy a sense of relaxation or general calm.
Is this "weed"?
The slang term “weed” is typically associated with High THC Cannabis (“Marijuana”) which is only available in select states. While High THC Cannabis and High CBD Cannabis are both Cannabis, seed genetics are used to change the ratios of plant compounds depending on legality.
Which way of enjoying CBD is best for me?
That will depend on your own desired result and delivery method choice.
Smokable and Sublingual Oils have the quickest delivery of results (within minutes) whereas edible items may take longer to feel results (up to an hour). Smokable and Sublingual consumers tend to enjoy results for 2 - 4 hours whereas edible cannabis is known to have the most sustained results, lasting up to 6 hours for some consumers.
