Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychotropic cannabinoid compound that is available throughout the United States thanks to the update to the U.S. Farm Bill in 2018.

What is the difference between CBD and D9 THC?
The two major cannabinoids in the Cannabis plant family are CBD and Delta-9 THC. While there are hundreds of minor cannabinoid compounds, CBD and THC are the most prominent. In hemp (High CBD Cannabis), CBD is the dominant compound with Delta-9 THC being regulated at .3% or less. CBD is dominantly attracted to the CB2 receptors of the Endocannabinoid System whereas THC is dominantly attracted to the CB1 receptors.
These two compounds are known to work together in a complimentary, synergistic way.
The main difference between the two is that CBD is non-psychoactive whereas D9 THC is the compound responsible for the psychotropic or “high” response that is most associated with Cannabis.
What’s the difference between your D9 gummies and those I get on vacation in a “legal” state like Colorado or California?
Since Cannabis is Cannabis, D9 is also D9 - no matter if it comes from High CBD Cannabis (Hemp) or High THC Cannabis (Marijuana). The main difference is a typical high THC plant in a state like Colorado has 100x the amount of D9 THC in it as our hemp plant does. So, while the compounds are the same, it takes us 100 plants to get the same gummy as 1 of theirs.
So long as the plant tests as compliant (.3% or less THC) at harvest and dry weight, once the compounds are extracted, we can isolate them and put them into gummies.
What does “1:1” or “0:1” mean?
Ratio labels are common in the Cannabis industry. In the Texas medical program (for example) you can find 1:1, 0:1 and 10:1 products. The first number is CBD and the second is D9 THC and it shows the ratio of them to each other in the end product. Remember these are the two major cannabinoid compounds found in the Cannabis family of plants.
That means that 1:1 is equal parts CBD and THC and 0:1 is no CBD and all THC.
What is “Cannabis Wellness”?
The basis of Cannabis Wellness is the interplay of the plant’s cannabinoids and how they work with the body’s own endocannabinoid system. You can learn more about the system and how Cannabis works with it on our blog, HERE.
How long does it take for a gummy to take effect and how long does it last?
The typical edible can take up to an hour to enjoy results, which is why it is a good idea to wait that long to see how you feel before enjoying more. Most edible results can last up to 8 hours, depending on how many milligrams were enjoyed.
My friend said edibles don’t work for them but I love them, how can that be?
Some people don’t process edibles. Those consumers tend to prefer raw flower or sublingual (under the tongue) options like infused oils. Part of learning about Cannabis wellness to deeper layers of understanding is knowing that each person has a different window of effectiveness and how they process the plant compounds may vary. Just as humans are unique, so are the varied ways that Cannabis fits with the world.
